Radar Detectors

                                                              Gatso   Truvelo Specs  School

The term Radar Detectors is used here to cover a variety of techniques which are used to warn the user of potential hazards. The techniques used include

1. Global Positioning System - GPS uses is used to determine the users position at any time and from this the speed of travel can be calculated. The position is compared with a database stored in the unit, and warnings given of a potential hazards, which may be Gatso, Truvelo or Specs Speed traps or other hazards such as Schools or Accident Black Spots.

2. Radar Detectors are used to warn directly of approaching Radar signals, which may come from Fixed Speed Traps, Temporary warnings set up at accidents or Mobile Speed Traps.

3. Laser Detectors warn against Police Laser Speed Detectors. However this is an instantaneous measurement, and the warning may be too late.

Units are fitted on Dashboard or Windscreen, or professionally installed into the vehicle if required, so that GPS, laser and Radar signals can be detected, and displays seen. However if the windscreen has heating elements or UV reflective (Athermic) type windscreen an external mounted sensor may be required.

We offer three alternative Radar detectors as standard but other models from these and other manufacturers can be supplied.

INFORAD

  • Inforad, a Satellite based speed camera system, uses GPS to determine where you and how fast you are travelling, and by comparison with a stored database warns by means of static or flashing green, yellow and red LED's and audible Bleep when you are approaching a fixed camera location, and a continuous buzz if you are travelling at above the speed limit.
  • The stored database can be updated by connecting to the Internet by supplied USB Cable connected to a computer, free for the first year and by subscription after that.
  • A button allows you to register temporary or new risk areas which are not stored in the database.
  • No Installation is required, simply mount  dashboard or Windscreen in a visible location and plug into the Cigar Lighter socket.
  • Database covers UK and most of central Europe

SNOOPER S3 Neo

  • Uses GPS to determine where you are and how fast you are travelling, and warns against all Gatso, Specs and all Fixed detectors, if above the speed limit.
  • Adjustable sensitivity from 100 -500 metres
  • 360 degree laser detector and warns against mobile speed monitoring laser guns.
  • L.E.D. display shows type of camera and distance to any hazard located via GPS
  • Downloads latest database via serial computer port with supplied cable or by optional extra USB Cable, free for 6 months and by subscription thereafter

ORIGIN B2

  • Uses GPS to determine where you are and how fast you are travelling, and warns against all Gatso, Truvelo, Specs and all Fixed detectors, if above the speed limit. Also detects Laser Speed Guns and (Optionally) Mobile Radar Traps.
  • Visual, spoken and Beep Warnings indicating the hazard type and speed limit.
  • Personal, user defined over speed warnings, and personal way point storage/warnings
  • Alerts only if camera is in users direction of travel
  • On Motorways suppresses alerts from off motorway hazards.
  • Warns against accident blackspots and time sensitive warnings for Schools
  • High Resolution LCD Display giving Position, speed, speed limit, road number, hazard type, distance and time to hazard,
  • Provides GPS antenna, car cradle, cigar lighter power lead, docking unit for internet connection via USB cable.
