The Vodafone Mobile Connect 3G/GPRS module can be used with almost any Laptop Computer to provide high speed internet services and email access, letting you work wherever you are.

There is no need for a separate mobile phone. The card plugs into a PMC1A Type 2 computer socket and the Vodafone Mobile Connect Software is installed on your computer. The software has an easy to use dashboard, a unique software interface which you helps manage your connection, coordinate your messages, track your usage and manage your applications on the move.

GPRS transmits at the same rate as the 56k modem dial up connection, but if you are in an area with 3G coverage then the rates are up to seven times greater at  384kbps, which is half as fast as an ADSL broadband connection. If you change from an area with GPRS to an area with 3G, the module will automatically change and give you the higher rates.

You can remain connected whenever you want and you only pay for the amount of data you send or receive.

In the UK 3G is available in major cities and towns and in16 countries abroad, GPRS is available in 65 countries.

What does it cost

There is an initial cost for the card, and a monthly charge for the service, which will include a bundle of data usage for each month, with additional usage charged separately.
